Top 10 All-American Resorts

Ritz-Carlton OrlandoIn a bid to get US citizens to explore places closer to home, Matthew Collins of  Luxist has devised a list of the top 10 resorts in the USA.   There is a nice mix of resorts in his list, from a range of states. Of course, some in the list come as no surprise (eg. The Wynn, Las Vegas) but there are also one or two that are perhaps less well known too (eg. The Cloister, Sea Island). Without further ado, here’s his top 10:

He is Winner of the Innovations in Travel ‘Best Travel Influencer’ Award from WIRED magazine. In addition to other awards, the blog has also been voted “one of the world’s best travel blogs” and “best for luxury” by The Daily Telegraph.

  1. Have stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando several times as it is a family favorite of ours, especially since we live close to Orlando. The golf course is very well designed and incorporates nature beautifully. Great to see that it got the #1 position!

  2. It would be great to see the 2009 version of this list of America’s top hotels. I would hope that some of the Laguna Beach hotels might have moved up the ranks somewhat, particularly due the popularity of the Laguna Beach TV shows on MTV boosting the profile of the Laguna area to a worldwide audience.
