If you’re looking for something other than a resort in Maui, spare a thought for Aloha Pualani. This small boutique hotel opened with five suites just three years ago and is just two minutes’ walk from the beach. With views of either the ocean or pool (or both), rates start from $265 a night with a minimum stay of two nights required. Opt for the Orchid Suite which is arguably the pick of the bunch.
