Hailed as one of America’s 10 best adventure lodges, the Sentry Mountain Lodge in the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia is accessible only by helicopter. Curiously not wishing to blow their own trumpted, on their own website they describe themselves as ‘functional rather than luxurious’. This understatement perhaps doesn’t give the full picture – the accommodation is equipped with more than just the basics, including a Finnish sauna and offers fine cuisine with an ever-changing menu. What’s more, at 6,920 feet, you’ll have views to die for. Ideal for winter or summer visits depending on where your interests lie.
