Schloss Velden, Austria – the first from Capella Hotels and Resorts

The former President of Ritz-Carlton, Horst Schulze, has launched his much-awaited chain of Capella Hotels and Resorts with Schloss Velden in the scenic village of Velden, Austria. A grand opening will take place next weekend unveiling this luxurious chateau retreat  on the banks of Lake Woerth,  dating back to 1607.   The property has 105 rooms and suites with nightly rates starting at around $600. Go for the 300 sq m  Kaiser Suite if you want to truly spoil yourself; it comes with a large lakeview balcony with dining for 8 people.
