A new luxury hotel on Stanford University land

As was suspected early last year, a new luxury hotel and spa will soon be popping up just one mile west of Stanford University campus. Stanford and Dallas-based Rosewood Hotels and Resorts have unveiled The Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel, a 121-room luxury hotel and spa on a 21-acre site. The development near the intersection of Sand Hill Road and Interstate 280 will include five extended-stay villas, a restaurant, health spa and over 8,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel will open in early 2009 and standard rooms will start from $400 to $450 a night.
