Some interesting deals from the Dubai Air Show

Aerion supersonic business jetLast week’s Dubai Air Show sounds like it was a great success with Airbus securing $28 billion commitments, followed  next by  Boeing. There were also  multi-million dollar deals  for a number of airlines, including  Emirates, DAE Capital, Qatar Airways and Air Arabia. Two deals that also caught the eye were Prince Alwaleed bin Talal’s $300 million upgrade from his personal Boeing 747 to an Airbus A380 superjumbo, and Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Noaimi’s  $80 million order for an Aerion supersonic business jet. The latter will be the world’s fastest executive jet, surpassing the Cessna Citation X (capable of mach .92), but is unlikely to be ready until 2014.
