The Dolder Grand is worth checking out in Zurich – if you can check-in, that is. Just unveiled after a four-year, $400 million “transformation” by Foster and Partners of London, the hotel drew 20,000 over a recent three-day preview weekend – a jaw-dropping turnout. A landmark of the city since opening as a “curhaus” in 1899, The Dolder Grand’s redo includes two new wings, a stunning 43,000 square-foot spa by industry hotshot Sylvia Sepielli, two new restaurants, an impressively efficient geothermal heating system and more. Check it all out for yourself with prices starting at $726 for a double room.
