Hollywood star Christian Slater returns to Ulusaba

As part of his ongoing support of Virgin Unite, the not for profit foundation of the Virgin Group, actor Christian Slater returned to Ulusaba, Sir Richard Branson’s private game reserve in South Africa, last week to visit a new classroom built at the Jeremiah Crèche, which he, Branson and guests of Ulusaba and Leopard Hill’s Lodge jointly funded. The crèche is supported by Pride ‘n Purpose, the charity arm of Ulusaba, and will benefit over 60 disadvantaged children living in the communities adjacent to the reserve. In 2007 Christian and his son travelled to Ulusaba where they tracked the ‘Big Five’, relaxed in the peaceful surroundings and set out to learn more about the nearby communities. He was deeply moved and touched by Pride ‘n Purpose and their commitment to the local community after encountering the daily lives of the Shangaan people firsthand. Subsequently, Christian donated his home video of their safari experience, enabling Ulusaba to produce a charity DVD “Our Safari Diary” to raise money for Pride n’ Purpose.
