Have you found luxury hotels for less?

Luxury hotelMost hotels, and perhaps particularly some luxury hotels, could be in for a torrid time in 2009 and 2010 depending on what the economy brings. If you’re someone who frequently travels, however, it could mean big savings and they might well be  available for a while. The terrible 9/11 tragedy in 2001 was followed by a 40% cut in hotel room rates  which remained for some time after.   In short, hotels are competing for fewer guests  and, if they want a share of that dwindling market, they will need to cut prices.   Have you managed to bag some bargains?   If so, please let us know by posting a comment.

  1. My observations are that there are some great hotel deals around but flights are more expensive than last year so package wise there is not much difference.

  2. London NYC. $275 per night. Got upgraded.

All hotels in Singapore; they are a steal compared with NYC prices. Recently stayed at Four Seasons Singapore. Junior wuite (with separate bedroom and a dining area) for USD 400 per night.

  3. try the auction option on priceline where you can pick the area and star of hotel you want then blind bid and see if the hotels in those categories accept it. i got a bargain at the intercontinental in boston – fabulous.
