This sounds like a seriously good bargain for a luxury cruise. My main experience of Dubai is its airport, which is pretty impressive, and the occasional overnight stay at Emirates’ expense.
I love Arabic food, but despite the growing popularity of the Middle East as a desirable destination I can’t say it would be top of my list. Two years in Iraq didn’t exactly inspire me to love the place, although it had its good points of course.
Dubai has loads going for it, unfotunately most people who visit see the hotel, beach and some of the shopping malls, but there is so much more to the city. Muscat in Oman is also a great place to visit, less touristy, although be warned if you want to have a drink in your hotel be prepared to pay through the nose for it, i once saw a bottle of wine that i would pay £8 here in the supermarket maybe £25 ish in a restaurant at £120. i tell you it is a sobering experience but worth it.
