Tripadvisor recently published ’10 unique luxury hotels you’ll never forget’. Strangely, it’s just a list – albeit with pictures – but with no explanation as to what, precisely, makes each one memorable. For what it’s worth, though, I’ve reproduced their list below. Banyan Tree Al Wadi is set in the heart of the Arabian Desert (Ras al Khaimah) and offers a remote luxury spa experience yet is only 45 minutes from Abu Dhabi. I imagine its been listed partly because of the quirkyness factor of sunbathing by the pool whilst indigenous Oryx pass by! It’s basically in the heart of 60 hectare nature reserve…and there’s also a terrific off site beach club. Our Managing Director went there this year on her personal holiday and loved it.
I’ve stayed at the Goldeneye in Jamaica and it is really a beautiful hotel.
