The top 5 pool villas in Thailand

Once you’ve stayed in a pool villa you really don’t want to stay anywhere else! Of course, there are some amazing hotel rooms across the world, but who doesn’t love the concept of a pool villa – with generally more space and of course the option to take a dip in privacy, a concept that is vastly underrated. From my travels across Thailand I have encountered some truly stunning pool villas, many with unbelievable views, and I’ve condensed the best five for you below. Ocean View Pool Villa at Conrad, Koh Samui It’s not fair to say that we’re starting off ‘small’ – as these little gems offer 96 sqm of living space and a modest 10 metre private infinity plunge pool. They look out to the Gulf of Thailand and feature floor to ceiling windows, tropical hardwood flooring and luscious Thai silk furnishings. A large walk-in closet and stocked mini bar with the latest in-room technologies make these villas ideal for couples seeking somewhere special for their honeymoon. Ocean Panorama Pool Villa at Six Senses, Yao Noi There are 7 of these Villas in total located at this terrific luxury spa resort. Each one offers 180 degree views of the blissful, limestone strewn Phang Nga Bay and features a private infinity edged 18 sqm pool. The bedroom here is private and there’s a bathroom with outside shower and sitting room. Espresso machine and full music surround system and direct dial phone are standard, and a specialised wine fridge will keep connoisseurs happy. Ocean Pool Villa at Rasananda, Koh Phangan These are the largest pool villas at the resort, offering a combined 260 sq m of indoor and outdoor beach-front living, again with plunge sized pool. Each one features a large terrazzo bath tub and open air bathroom whilst the garden courtyard is ideal for sipping cocktails and a relaxation sala with candles is perfect for a sunset read. Complimentary spirits are provided in decanters throughout these rooms and the King-sized bed and Blissful Dreams mattress will help lull you away when the time comes to rest. Phranang Villa at Rayavadee, Krabi These secluded three bedroom villas (each with their own en-suite bathroom) feature a private pool and deep circular baths to become some of the most sought after Villas in the region. Overlooking the breathtaking Phranang Beach they exude a sense of style and sophistication with a large, richly decorated living and dining area making them perfect for entertaining. The beauty of Krabi is almost indescribable; these Villas compliment their location perfectly. Private Cliff Villa Suite at Soneva Kiri, Koh Kood A vast luxury Villa built from local, sustainably sourced timber – where the private 172 sq m half-moon pool wraps around outside like a loving embrace. The size is staggering, 482 sq m in total and elevated on the hillside. There’s an array of terraced nooks for sun dwelling. The master bedroom is epic with walk through dressing area and outdoor vanity, shower and bath. The rooms (if you can all them that) each come with an environmentally friendly buggy for when you want to head out and explore.  And all mod cons are of course, top of the range. 1. Thanks for sharing, Carole! The pool at Conrad looks amazing. If I may suggest another pool: Villa Amanzi in Phuket, it’s got a 15m infinity pool perched high above a cliff with breathtaking views over the Andaman Sea.

  2. We’d propose getting the most from your holiday in Thailand by splitting your stay between two or more villas in different regions of the country – perhaps starting with a fully catered, private pool villa among the rice paddies of rural northeast Thailand, such as Green Gecko, before heading down south for a beach villa experience.
This will allow visitors to see the vast diversity of the kingdom, from the authentic northeast to the tourist-focused south. And to boot, a vacation in the northeast costs a fraction of the rates charged at the hotel branded villas in the popular tourist centres!

  3. Excellent post on this subject. Pool Villas are the way forward. Getting a few friends or family together distributes the cost and can be the catalyst for an unforgettable vacation experience.
