12 years on from the 9/11 tragedy, this commemorative time-lapse movie highlights the progress made at the World Trade Center site from October 2004 to September 2013. Witness the rise of One World Trade Center, including the installation of the spire, bringing it to a staggering height of 1,776 feet. Hundreds of thousands of high definition images were captured over the past 9 years and hand-edited for this special time-lapse movie.
The building which replaces the two towers of the World Trade Center is now nearing completion. With the addition of the spire, it is now the tallest building in the Western hemisphere, topping out at a symbolic 1,776 ft (541m) – a reference to the year of America’s independence.
The skyscraper is expected to open next year and among the tenants will be magazine publisher Conde Nast.
