Photograph of the week: Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi, UAE

This shot of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi was taken on a crystal clear winter day. It is one of the world’s largest mosques and is open for tours to Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Led by Emirati locals, these tours and Q&A sessions offer important insights into United Arab Emirates culture. The mosque’s impressive and iconic architecture, featuring 82 domes, over 1000 columns, and gorgeously impressive chandeliers, is truly an Abu Dhabi “must see”.
