Known as the Zona Alta or high zone, for its geographical location above the Eixample district, the district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi is also one of the most well-to-do residential areas in Barcelona.
If youre looking for a slightly different and more relaxed shopping experience then we suggest you take a wander along the main street, Carrer Major, and explore some of the side streets that surround it. Barcelona has many places for luxury shopping however, even if it’s a premium location for tourism in Spain, it’s no compare with Madrid which hosts all the existing luxury brands in standalone stores, very chic and much more exclusive.
Madrid does have many exclusive stores, but Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona is also very chic and many of the main designers have standalone stores. Surrounded by Gaudí architecture and colourful fountains, there’s no denying that this street in particular is the setting for a unique shopping experience.
Both cities have their own charming ambience and personality.
For any luxury brand who is planning to open a store in Spain, Madrid (Serrano street) and Barcelona (Passeig de Gràcia) is the place to be.
Great tips! I remember that Passeig De Gracia has a lot of high-end designer fashion stores, such as LV and Chanel.
I bought my first luxury items there, a Chanel brooch and Louis Vuitton sunglasses. And I also shopped at La Roca. It was a little crowded, but all the sales assistants were extremely nice. So many good memories!
