Extreme mountain biking on the Isle of Skye

Many of you very kindly followed our family mountain bike adventures in the Scottish Isles this Summer in which we eventually made our way on to the Isle of Skye where we did a little exploring of our own. Well, our efforts will look rather meagre once you watch this! #TheRidge is the brand new film from Danny Macaskill… Mountain biking on the Isle of Skye Scottish trials cyclist Danny returns to his native home of Skye and takes on a section of the Cuillin Ridgeline – a route that would even test the most able of walkers – on a mountain bike. The film includes some incredible footage… a definite must-see!

Make sure you watch to the end and admire the spectacular negotiation of the fence at the finish, too!

  1. Wow that movie is really amazing. Though i am not so good with bikes i love to give it a try once in my life.. but not on such heights haha.

  2. Wow! That film was amazing! Such amazing scenery, and really good camerawork too!

I can’t even believe somebody could walk up that ridge let alone go up it on a mountain bike! haha. I love hiking but I think I would probably just look at some of those steep declines and just fall down, let alone be able to traverse it on two wheels.

I’m still in awe. This guy is incredible!

  3. Hi Paul,

    Absolute stunning.

The heights alone would have me terrified. Mountain biking up there takes things to a whole new level.

    Way cool, way inspiring too.

    Tweeting soon.

  5. Hey Paul,

Wow, this dude is totally nuts! Really Astounding. I wonder how long it took him to learn those rock hopping techniques…and that fence flip. What?!&*(&^*^)(*_) ???

I for one would love to WALK the trails he rode on, but I would not feel safe cycling them.

    What a guy!

    thanks for sharing.

    cheers, Lash

  6. This is so beautiful. If Scotland was a bit warmer it would had been one of the best holiday destinations. But then again many people like it this way!
