    People say that travel broadens the mind and nowhere in my opinion is that more true than for food. A lot of us could learn from the Ecuadorian staples of beans, rice, plantains and yuca. Too many of us have only updated “chips with everything” to “French Fries with everything.” Usually when I travel I come back with some new exciting items to add to the shopping list.

    Well, you learn something every day! I’ve seen menus outside restaurants advertising “asado”. I’d either forgotten what it meant or never bothered to look it up. I like the idea of contrasting flavours and textures of meat on a plate. Hopefully, I can find an asado taster menu that isn’t too much of a feast.

    Borago and Restaurante 99 are favourites. Ambrosia is a little hit and miss in my opinion but the cute little garden area makes up for it, and the service is incredible.
    I’d put Osaka on there too – the ceviche is out of this world.

    I’ve eaten my way around the world and never come across anything quite as way out and exotic as Peking guinea pig on purple corn pancakes. I’d give it a go but what wine would the sommelier recommend to bring out the best flavours of the guinea pig?

    Great choice of food destinations! I have been to Buenos Aires myself and I must say, their varieties of meat are extremely satisfying and delicious. I will never forget the first time I have tasted their Asado, mouth-watering and very juicy. Their love for meat is really fascinating and I am thankful that I had the chance to taste some of their best ribs and steaks. I would really love to visit the country again.
