5 resorts perfect for a halal friendly family Summer trip

It’s crazy to think we’re already nearing the end of March. With the months flying by and Ramadhan just around the corner, before we know it the summer holidays will be here. Take it from experience, planning the summer holidays equates happy kids. It’s like scheduling your work day, like having a monday.com app for your kids (now there is a great app idea). I agree, heading away during the school holidays can be expensive but with a bit of planning and finding those ‘early bird catches the worm’ offers, there’s nothing stopping you from making the most of a halal friendly luxury getaway. Here’s a pick of some of my favorite luxury holidays that the kids will keep on talking back well into September. The Wome Resort, Alanya, Turkey The perfect halal stay; a Muslim family’s ideal holiday This stunning resort situated in Alanya, Turkey is the perfect escape for Muslim families looking for something to keep the kids entertained. Located on the Turkish Mediterranean, the 30-acre resort houses its own private beach, breathtaking sea views, and a whole range of exciting activities. The Wome Resort offers a kid’s club, water slides galore, a games room, kid’s pools, and more for the kids to enjoy. For the adults, there are dedicated female only spaces for swimming and even relaxing on the beach in the private. So you can leave the kids with your husband and hide away for some me time. Family rooms are also available which makes accommodate children nice and comfortable and being all-inclusive, dining is a joy when choosing from one of the many on site restaurants. Family-friendly highlights: Family rooms, kids club, water park, multiple swimming pools, and alcohol-free hotel. Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Dubai, UAE Luxury and waterparks combined; the ultimate family fun escape For Muslim families looking to venture a little further across the globe, Dubai’s 5* Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is a magical holiday destination ideal for those traveling with kids. Located on the exclusive Palm Jumeirah, your luxury holiday begins the moment you step foot into the Ottoman inspired lobby. Surrounded by a vast gold leafed foyer, make sure you check out the little one’s as they stare in awe. This family getaway offers a 59-meter infinity pool for plenty of water fun, and a kids club complete with a PlayStation area – that’s them occupied for a good few hours! Supervised activities are also available for the younger ones, allowing you to escape to The Talise Ottoman Spa where you can relax and enjoy peace and quiet. As part of the Jumeirah hotel group, you will also receive complimentary access to the Wild Wadi Waterpark for the duration of your stay. This waterpark haven will be the cherry on top of your holiday, especially when the kids start to get bored. Complimentary scheduled shuttle buses are provided for Jumeirah Zabeel Saray guests, making this day out not only adventurous but convenient too! Family-friendly highlights: Pristine private beach, children’s pool, Sinbad’s Kids Club, family-friendly rooms, Wild Wadi Waterpark, on site cinema, and babysitting services. Shangri-La Hambantota, Sri Lanka A world of wonder; a luxury escape surrounded by wildlife If you’re considering a completely different destination rather than your ‘normal’ go-to spot, then Sri Lanka’s Shangri-La Hambantota is perfect for you and your family. This breathtaking luxury getaway is the perfect combination of one of the world’s most famous hotels experiences and a location of pure bliss. Situated in Hambantota, be prepared to explore luscious jungles, and fascinating nature and wildlife sanctuaries including the Yala, Udawalawe, Lunugamvehera and Bundala National Parks. Those travelling with kids will be taken back by the beauty Sri Lanka has to offer, especially when it comes to getting up close and personal with their wildlife. With a selection of recreational activities available on site, plus a kid’s club and water park, we’re sure the younger ones will enjoy hours of fun while you adults relax at the Shangri-La Chi Ayurveda Spa. And did we mention Shangri-La Hambantota has a 7-meter high trapeze? Let the younger ones jump for joy as they explore the resort grounds, while you sit back and soak up the sun. Family-friendly highlights: Kid’s club, waterpark, 3 swimming pools, 7-meter high trapeze, recreational activities, golf course, and health club Heritage The Villas, Mauritius A home like holiday away from home, plus the extra added luxuries Simply knowing you’ll be traveling to Mauritius should get you jumping up for joy, but it’s the stunning resort that awaits which will really get you giddy. The 5* Heritage The Villas offers private pool villas suitable for both big families and small. This laid back setting comes complete with housekeeping services, your very own private butler, a personal chef, and babysitting services, giving you freedom as and when you need it. It’s here you’ll sit back, relax, and enjoy the luxury villa life in a comfortable resort setting, while the younger ones enjoy the kids and teen club, allowing something for everyone, and keeping you all occupied. Other activities at the Heritage The Villas include horse riding and sports. Water activities are also available at an extra cost. If you’re a golf lover, then you’re in for a treat! The luxurious oceanfront golf course is the perfect way to spend the afternoon, before retreating to the spa for a well-deserved massage. Family-friendly high lights: Private pool villas, kids and teen club, babysitting services, butler service, golf, sports, and water activities. Yas Hotel by Marriott, Abu Dhabi, UAE Heart pumping and adrenaline rushing; a must for active families It may not be as luxurious as the above 4, but it’s probably the most adventurous and family fun oriented trip! Abu Dhabi’s, the Yas Island Experience features a whole lot of fun for every member of the family. With access to the Yas Theme Parks including Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros World, and Ferrari World, it’s here you’ll have the kids out of bed and ready before the break of dawn! If you’re a Muslim family looking for adrenaline rushing activities, then get ready to feel your heart racing in the days to come. Enjoy relaxing nights in at the 5* Yas Hotel by Marriott, before waking up in the morning, and getting ready to venture through the theme parks. 1. Top notch selections. I’ve called in on some of these great hotels on my travels around the world, business and pleasure, I can certainly vouch for their quality.

    1. Hi Bob, thanks for leaving a comment and we’re glad you agree with our selection! There are a lot of great hotels around the world, but these 5 definitely stand out!

  2. I like the idea of a Monday.com app – anything with the potential to bring a little order and sanity to family life at the beginning of the week could be a multi-million seller. Market it right and you could be staying in this luxury level of hotel whenever you wanted.

    1. Hi Carolyn, thanks for leaving a comment, and yes we agree, especially on Monday mornings! Hopefully, someone can put an app like that together to help us parents out!

  3. Reading at first, I am already sold on Jumeirah Zabeel Saray because of the waterpark features, but then I got stunned with Shangri-La Hambantota’s wildlife. As a young mom, I want to make my child experience nature and learn something from it while having fun as well. I will definitely consider Shangri-La when we visit for the holidays. Thanks to this post!

    1. Hi Angela, you’re right, the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is perfect for kid’s that love the water and slides! But Shangri-La Hambantota definitely has something a little ‘extra’ to offer being situated in such a stunning location surrounded by wildlife. The endless opportunities to get up close and personal with nature is amazing, and something we also believe kids should get to experience and learn. We’re glad you’ll be considering Shangri-La Hambantota as your next holiday getaway, it’s a must visit, especially with their 7-meter high trapeze!

  4. Halal isn’t a requirement for me but there are some great resorts here. The Shangri-La Hambantota in particular looks like something from a painting, it’s so scenic and unspoilt. This is a brilliant round up to give those that are looking for halal and family friendly places a little inspiration of where to consider.
