The best rooftop bars in Barcelona

It might not be New York City or even London, but the Barcelona skyline is also one to marvel at. Tibidabo Mountain, the Hotel W, the architecture of Barceloneta, Port Olímpic, and of course the glorious La Sagrada Família, all make up one of the best views in the whole of Europe, and the world. There are many ways to take in this breathtaking scene, and the city has its fair few fantastic viewpoints. But arguably one of the best ways to see the Barcelona skyline, is by rooftop bar. And of those, there are plenty. Barcelona EDITION Hotel Our favourite and best rooftop terrace in the city, you only have to look at its designer Ian Schrager (founder of Studio 54), to know that it’s going to be superb. The rooftop offers a spectacular view of the city taking in the city’s iconic Torre Agbar. The hotel was newly opened in 2018 and is professionally run by the Marriott, meaning that you can expect nothing less than superior service, craft cocktails, and great views. 1. You really don’t need to begin with an apology for Barcelona. It is one of my favourite cities in Europe. OK, you haven’t got the sheer altitude advantage of perhaps Dubai, Hong King, New York or Singapore where you are looking down on toytown scenes. What’s different with Barcelona is that you get views with bags of history. Any city that has the Sagrada Familia on its skyline has a great head start.

    1. Hi Karen, we completely agree! We also like to marvel at the W Hotel and Torre Agbar… what’s your favourite Barcelona landmark?

  2. Any Barcelona view is going to be all the better for having a chilled “cerveza” in one hand and a platter of tapas before you.

  3. Drinking on a rooftop is my definition of the word ‘chill’. The cool breeze of the air while enjoying ice cold beers and a beautiful view of the city really brings great satisfaction and relaxation. I would love to visit some of these rooftop bars in Barcelona as I’ve always enjoyed drinking in quiet and open bars rather than in indoor bars with loud music and many people.

    1. Hi Sacha, we think that sounds like the perfect excuse to come to Barcelona. We much prefer the chill vibes of a rooftop bar, the wind in our hair, a glass of wine in our hand…

  4. I am big fan of Leo Messi and Barcelona football club.If there is any rooftop from where the club practice ,training sections and games can be seen would be great.Barcelona is always a destination to enjoy time.Love Edition Hotel top.

    1. Dhruba, can you imagine! Free football games for life! Glad you liked reading our article. Hope to see you in Barcelona soon!

  5. I’ve been to La Dolce Vitae and it is amazing! Aside from the 360 views of the city, you also get a view of the Sagrada Familia. Must tries are the Iberian Ham and Sirloin sandwiches. A bit pricey, but that’s what you pay for a Michelin star chef to do your food.

    1. Hi Melissa, we love La Dolce Vitae as well! Like you say, the prices are steep but the experience is so worth it…

  6. This is a great post because sitting on a rooftop bar in Europe is the perfect way to experience their lifestyle. In fact, I want to go to my nearest rooftop bar today after reading this post. Ha!
