  1. This post really is spot-on and on message for the 21st Century contemporary traveller. Sight-seeing has had its day, today’s traveller wants to experience the destination to become a part of the locale. Not many travellers want to be tourists, meekly ambling round as part of a tour group listening to historical lectures, they want to head off on their own, as individuals, discovering the region for themselves.

  2. As a cycling fanatic the cycling tour in Monemvasia really appeals to me. What is most attractive is having a local guide not just to provide some local flavour but also to help you out with those emergency repairs that always crop up for me when I’m on a long ride. For me being a cycling guide, out in the open air everyday, would be my dream job, rather than being imprisoned in a stuffy office. Every day could be my own little “Tour de Peloponnese.”

  3. A friend of mind gets a great deal of pleasure and relaxation from her bees as well as great honey. She even uses it to make some ace cocktails. I’m tempted to give bee-keeping a try but don’t want to pester her too much.

Heading off to the Peloponnese for a brill holiday whilst also learning the basics of bee-keeping would be a good way to start.

  4. Rafting in Arcadia is a real Indiana Jones day out. Two hour trip there, two hours of rafting, then an hour hike and I bet a swim by the waterfall to finish the adventure? I expect people sleep well after that but what s great way to enjoy some spectacular scenery.

  5. As I’ve just read a piece on how the world’s bee populations are in worrying decline it is brilliant that people can get the chance to try their hand at bee-keeping on Nafplio. Any knowledge that people can pick up might encourage them to try their hand at bee-keeping when they get back home. The world’s bees need all the help that they can get in their battle to survive. We humans are very dependent on their pollination skills too.
