  1. Brilliant for Sydney people that some of these properties are only 90 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfect for travellers to Sydney who want to get out into the country.

  2. There are some beautiful places here. I’d just be a bit concerned with somewhere like Degen Estate where you’ve got a main house and the shared kitchen and alfresco area if it’s a self-catered affair, just because I’ve done similar before and found the other guests intolerable. I quite like the ability now to have separate spaces and not rely on sharing facilities like the kitchen to make your dinner, just in case. Maybe that’s just me being too sceptical based on one bad experience. My aunt grew up around Hunter Valley, though I’m not sure where exactly. It was before she moved to Victoria. I wonder if the Millfield Homestead has been around for decades, just in case she knows of it. I wouldn’t say no to a week or several there, it seems very peaceful.

    1. Hi Tracy – Degen Estate is for exclusive use. When booked, no other guests will stay here so it’s just you and the people joining you. There are 2 seperate dwellings but all is part of the same property. The Hunter Valley region is a very peaceful destination and just perfect for some much-needed R&R

  3. What a great selection of properties and I’ve always wanted to spend some time becoming better acquainted with the Hunter Valley in particular.

The problem at the moment is that I can only see all those horrendous and frightening inferno images from the TV news when I think of Australia. I hope that all of these marvellous properties have survived the fires.

    1. Hi Stephen, none of the homes have been affected by the fires. It’s just so sad to see the horrific conditions our beautiful country is experiencing. Hoping for some much-needed rain! There are still many areas not affected and the local communities will need all the support they can get so do come and visit :)

  4. With 9 rooms and that huge outdoor dining table, Degen Estate looks to be a dream location for a family get together, a birthday or anniversary celebration. It always takes an unbelievable amount of diary organisation to book the slotbut it’s always worth it in the end to get people together for a good time.

    1. Degen Estate is one of the largest homes we offer in Australia and gets booked often for larger get-togethers. It’s ideal for these kind of getaways!
