Afternoon tea makes even more sense in Scotland. After a morning outdoors – walking, fishing, sailing on a Loch – you need some extra calories to see you through to dinner.
To Brad: I would totally agree with you that there is always a good reason for a sumptuous afternoon tea in Scotland, if you have been active in the morning, have actually missed lunch, because you had so much fun … and dinner is just too far away!
