  1. Nice timing for some gift ideas with Valentine’s Day fast approaching.

A Luxury Travel Blog is usually my first stop when looking for luxury gifts for loved ones and friends who are travel addicts.

  2. I love travel and sadly as I’m getting older being cramped up on a plane for several hours leaves my body in a terrible state.

A friend recommended a massage gun so I may take up your recommendation.

    1. Our “kids” do a LOT of spot, and they use them all the time. They are very portable and it’s surprising what a difference they can make sometimes. The other week my wife had a knot or something in her back or shoulder, I think it was, and within minutes of using the massage gun, she was moving more freely again. If you’re prone to things like this, which can happen if you travel a lot or do a lot of sport, you might find it super useful.

  3. That PureVis water bottle is a great innovation for travel in places where you can’t quite trust the water supply – which is probably in far more travel destinations than you would think.

    1. How does the water bottle work? Is there a filter? Do you have to renew chemicals for the purification?

  4. My wife used to be a very talented amateur photographer then, like so many of us, she got into the habit of using her phone as a camera and the photos aren’t always as good as they were with a proper camera.

If I got her the Canon camera it might revive a hobby that she used to love.

    1. Phones take amazing photographs nowadays and they are so easily accessible (we carry them with us all the time) but ultimately you’re limited by the quality of the glass (lens) when it comes to photography. And whilst there have been huge improvements on the quality of lenses in cameras, I don’t think they can really compete with having a proper, quality camera such as the Canon EOS 4000 which is a great entry level DSLR nowadays.

  5. Temperatures are dropping and we’re only just into February. That hooded down jacket is looking like a wise investment.

    1. It tried to snow here today, and I know other parts of the UK have had a good covering. We are certainly not out of Winter yet, and February can often be one of the coldest months…

  6. I’ve always known that I ought to wear flight compression socks. The problem has always been that they are so uncomfortable. Those socks from turtl could encourage me to do what I ought to be doing.

    1. I know what you mean, Sally! I’ve had some in the past that have been so tight that it made me not want to wear them. You want compression socks to do the job they need to do, but you also want to have some degree of comfort when you travel!

  7. I love that world map. It would look great on our lounge wall and I can see it being a great starting point for visitors’ travel anecdotes. A real talking point.

  8. Over the years I’ve learnt the hard way that your average lap top bag doesn’t always do the job. The Alpha Briefcase is more the sort of thing you need when travelling for work.

    1. Definitely, Graham… it’s nice to treat yourself occasionally (or treat someone else!), and if you can find items that make travel that little bit more enjoyable, then why not?! 😊

  9. My partner travels a lot for work and always does her best to look immaculate, wherever she travels.

So there are quite a few items here that would help her to maintain her professional appearance standards and take some of the stress out of travel.

  10. That linen shirt is exactly the sort of style that my girlfriend likes. It could be an idea for a birthday present for her.

  11. 16 credit card slots in the Sarah Wallet is impressive. Some people are leading a very different lifestyle to mine.

    1. Haha… having more cards doesn’t necessarily make you more affluent, Caroline! And there are so many loyalty cards, etc. nowadays that it’s not just credit and debit cards to think about! This is why I prefer to have as many of them as possible on my phone these days, but I still end up carrying a fair number, it seems.

  12. Having become dependent on the ALTB gift guides, I dropped in for my usual pointers and was a little disappointed until I saw this travel guide! I should be able to find something to keep her happy.

Hopefully, the gift guides will be back onboard soon? In particular, I’m thinking of Mother’s Day which I’m told is very early this year.

    1. Hi Tom – we’ll continue to do occasional gift guides like these. They won’t necessarily be for specific events (although some may be), but we’ll aim to issue them on at least a monthly basis so that there is always something for everyone, whatever the time of year. 🙂

  13. It might be my OCD tendencies for having everything in its place that makes the Hindmarch Vanity Kit so attractive to me!

  14. I did a double take when I saw the photo of the model in the cashmere skirt from N.PEAL. I thought my wife had got a part-time job modelling. That model is a dead ringer for my wife – perhaps she needs a cashmere skirt to complete the look?

  15. Is that top picture of the Glacier Express?

My brother-in-law is a railway journey fanatic and he’s taken that train. He said it was one of the most spectacular journeys that he’s ever taken.

I think you’d need your thermals and warm weather kit for that epic journey.

    1. Yes, it is, Chris…! We did the route about 10 years or so ago when travelling from Zurich to St. Moritz. This shot is of the most iconic part of the journey – it’s known as the Landwasser Viaduct…
