  1. I had some good meals in Slovenia recently and knew that Slovenian food was on the up. 10 Michelin – starred restaurants is a big surprise, I did know that it was that excellent.

  2. Am I imagining it? I remember at the start of the COVID pandemic with all those passengers trapped on all those ships that this would be the end of cruising. And yet every month we herd about new ships being commissioned or launched.

  3. I’m frequently amazed at the quality of the food served on safari considering how remote the kitchens are and the heat they have to deal with. I’ve got a feeling that the Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is probably going to hit new culinary heights.

  4. I’ve had some consistently excellent stays at Ritz-Carlton hotels though I didn’t know that they did cruises. I’ll have to take a look.

  5. Coco Palms’ renovation looks intriguing. If it’s going to become a haven for Hollywood celebrities again I probably won’t be able to stay for too many nights.

  6. You’re always going to draw me into a story with a good pic of an infinity pool. I’m a real sucker for an infinity pool. I’ve booked far too many hotels on their pics of infinity pools.

  7. We Brits have always loved Portugal, probably because we’ve been made so welcome by the Portuguese.

No surprise really that IHG is adding so many rooms as Portuguese tourism keeps on growing.

  8. Whatever your opinion on Donald Trump you have to admit that he has always got his eyes open for the next opportunity.

Opening up a resort in Oman had to be a shrewd move, I can’t remember seeing too many good quality golf courses on my travels through Oman. It’s a country with immense potential for tourist expansion, especially as it seems to have survived the death of the Sultan without too much turmoil.
