  1. I read through the piece on Under Canvas with disbelief. That is a very, very different experience from what “under canvas “ meant when I was a young Boy Scout heading off on my first camping trip. I know which one I would prefer.

  2. What great timing! I’m planning a South East Asian exploration for November and a direct flight from Hanoi to Phnom Penh makes travelling a lot easier. You have to ask why Vietnam Air didn’t launch this service earlier?

  3. Yet another new cruise ship, this time for Viking, is more evidence that the cruise industry is still going from strength to strength.

  4. What’s the time scale on the NEOM development? I keep an eye on luxury travel developments and this is the first I’ve heard of it.

Is it going to be a drip-drip development or is it going to open with a bang? Whichever one it is they ought to up their marketing.

  5. Raising the quality of service for VIP quests is a shrewd move from Air France, some airlines have allowed the quality of their business lounges to slip and I’ve been to some that are very ordinary.

  6. Bringing the Small Luxury Hotels of the World under the Hilton Umbrella is a huge expansion. I met one of Hilton’s senior finance staff last week, no surprise that he looked frazzled, he’s going to have some more work to do.

  7. Not sure that I entirely get where Meliá is positioning the INNSiDE brand. It will be interesting to see some reviews of the properties.
