The world’s most expensive camera
WestLicht Photographica Auction in Vienna for an eye-watering €2.16 million (approximately $2.8 million).  As it happens, you can watch the auction here:
You could be forgiven for thinking that something like the Peartree Leaf AFi 10 medium format camera ($43,675) or the special edition Diamond IXUS ($43,083, marking the 10th anniversary of their IXUS range) would be among the most expensive cameras in the world, but actually they’re not.  In fact, they don’t even come close.  The most expensive cameras in the world are no longer in production.
The world’s most expensive camera is a prototype Leica 35mm film camera, known as the 0-series – one from the first batch of cameras that the German camera-maker ever created.
