Siem Reap was our home for more than 8 years, during which time the demand for plant based and vegan food around the world continued to increase. When we arrived in town, our options were few and far between but slowly that’s changed.
With brand new exciting eateries in Bangkok opening on a regular basis and many established restaurants, hotels and resorts around the country adapting and expanding on their plant based offering, there’s never been a better time to visit Thailand.
Emirates has noted a 154% increase in vegan meals served onboard between 2021 and 2022, with over 280,000 plant-based meals consumed in the past year.
The first ever Himalayan Vegan Festival took place over two weekends in Kathmandu and Pokhara in Nepal. The list of speakers was impressive and included Dr Susianto Tseng, the President of World Vegan Organisation.
