New pool bar in Venice from Hotel Cipriani

In Venice, Hotel Cipriani has finished a second phase of refurbishments, which included the restoration of Bar Gabbiano. Located next to the hotel’s famous swimming pool, the bar aims to become the heart of the hotel, with live music and a lively atmosphere for guests and local Venetians to meet.

Guests can choose from a large selection of cocktails, including the Cipriani’s famous Bellini. Alternatively, they may wish to indulge in a ‘Buona Notte’ cocktail, which was created for George Clooney when he stayed at the hotel after a special screening of his film ‘Good Night, Good Luck’ at the 62nd Venice Film Festival. The cocktail is a refreshing blend of diced lemon, sugar, vodka, cranberry juice, ginger and angostura bitters.

    1. I think if I could stay anywhere in Venice, this would be the place.

The Cipriani reputation’s been built up over a number of years and their London restaurant is one of my favourite places to eat when I’m there (and the budget stretches that far!)

Their Bellinis are absolutely to die for!

    3. Venice is indeed a destination of most people’s dreams, and it’s great to see that new things are constantly opening in the city. This one sounds like a really luxurious new point of interest in the city, and I hope to see it very soon, as Venice is really close to where I live.

    4. It interests me how long Venice will stay around for. I was reading a report this morning that suggested most residents are now non-native and that Venice as a place is having serious problems. Combined with the ecological problems of erosion and the resort certainly has some challenges ahead.

    5. The Buona Notte sounds to die for! I love pool bars. Something about the sun, the water, and the drinks that just create a great atmosphere!

    6. It sounds wonderful. I haven’t been to Venice since the early 1980s. Bet it’s changed a lot since then. I remember good bread, excellent cheese, and a couple of glasses of red plonk – a perfect lunch!

    8. This hotel simply never goes out of style. Like the Hotel du Cap, Hotel Cip is the benchmark for service and style! Love it.
