The Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in Muscat, Oman, is set against a dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains overlooking the Gulf of Oman. This five-star complex is set in 124 acres of beautiful scenery and comprises three hotels (Al Waha, Al Bandar, and Al Husn), 6 main restaurants, two bars, a nightclub, a spa village, and three private beaches. Doubles start from around US$250.

Of the 3 hotels at the Shangri-la Oman Al Husn has to be the choice. The views are worth it alone.
can’t rate this resort highly enough – fabulous!
This is one of my favourite hotels worldwide. It is always an absolute pleasure to take groups there.
The team is very accommodating and will always go the extra mile to ensure that you have everything you need for the meeting and recreational elements of retreat and incentive programmes.
There are a number of touches that make Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa a magical place. There isn’t enough time to mention all of them. Hostesses greet you at the door and serve you a refreshing welcome drink when you first arrive. They welcome you back wheneve you return to the property after an outing. What could be more relaxing than reclining on a lounger in front of the Chi Spa’s pond, listening to the soothing sound of water from the fountain while you enjoy a manicure and pedicure. The gourmet cuisine at Al Tanoor, Shahrazad and Sultanah is a treat to which you can look forward throughout your stay.
I have stayed at a number of Shangri-La properties but this resort really captures the essence of Shangri-La. The view from the rooftop terrace of Sultanah restaurant at night when the whole resort is lit up is nothing short of mesmerizing. You really feel like you are in Shangri-La looking down on the valley. It’s the perfect way to spend your last night at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa. Remembering it will make you long to return as I do now.
