Congo President enjoyed lavish stays at the Waldorf Astoria

It’s been revealed by The Sunday Times that the leader of one of Africa’s poorest countries – the Republic of Congo – spent $400,000 on hotel bills as members of his entourage “drank Cristal Champagne and charged tens of thousands of dollars of room service”. President Denis Sassou-Nguesso enjoyed stays at a Waldorf Astoria suite in April and September of last year.
