The Tibetan campital of Lhasa is to get a luxury hotel courtesy of Starwood’s St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. According to their press release, it will offer guests “superior design and unparalleled service in the world’s most highly elevated location”. The 169-room luxury resort will open in January 2010 and will offer views of the famed Potala Palace. Definitely one to keep an eye out for.

I don’t understand what I would be doing here with small children? The cuisine is better in Sichuan and Yunnan and where are the hospitals in case the children get sick?
