Photograph of the week… what do you think?

PhotographerThere are a number of regular features on A Luxury Travel Blog nowadays.   On Fridays, we have the ‘recipe of the week’, on Sundays ‘luxury travel links of the week’ and on Mondays ‘suite of the week’.   And I’ve been wondering for a while about a new regular item: ‘photograph of the week’.   Once a week I would post a photograph, with the photographer’s permission (and including a link where appropriate) of course,  of a stunning travel shot taken from some beautiful corner of the world.   Is this something you would like to see  feature on a semi-regular basis?

  1. Absolutely yes. It is always fascinating to see the world as some else captured it in that split second!

  2. We have something similar on one of our sites. We don’t get as many contributions as we would like, though, so we end up using a lot of my own photos. I don’t mind cos I’ve got plenty.

You’re welcome to use some of my photos if you want them. I’ve got heaps of recent ones from Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia.

  3. Hi Paul, sorry for the delayed reply, I just happened to stumble upon this post again and hadn’t seen your response until now.

I wish I could give you a link to them all, Paul. But they are all over the place – mostly on my hard drive. Some of the older ones, which were shot on film, are on the BE eCards section (link below) which I haven’t added to for years. But they’re timeless photos – stuff like Petra and the Taj Mahal.

There are also quite a few of mine in the BE Pic of the Week section (link below comment #4) (Please note that I only own copyright of those which I took myself.)

I also have some in my portfolio on my favourite stock photo site. But I’m way behind with the task of adding to that. (Something to do next week!) These ones are mostly of Penang because the photos I previously took for my own purposes (websites and blogs) weren’t of high enough resolution to meet the strict specifications of the stock photo site.

I’ll be in Penang again next month so if you wanted anything in particular I could try to get it for you.

BTW, please feel free to email if you want to use anything.

  4. Photo of the Week is a great idea – as they say a picture is worth a thousand words – and can really make a site. i would be interested to send some in for use.
