Emirates has 58 of the huge, double-decked A380 planes on order, and has announced that it will be flying from Dubai to a number of destinations before the end of the year. Flights from Dubai to New York begin in October 2008 and will be followed by Dubai-London Heathrow flights from 1st December 2008. Routes with the A380 to Sydney and Auckland will begin on 1st February 2009. The aircraft on these routes will have 489 seats – 14 in first class, 76 in business and 399 in economy.
