The world’s leading honeymoon destination in 2008 has been…

St. Lucia, according to the 2008 World Travel Awards.   The beautiful Caribbean island’s spectacular rainforests, world famous Pitons, sparkling turquoise waters, friendly Caribbean vibe and soft, sandy beaches as well as their world class resorts, makes it a perfect choice for romantic honeymoons.   Honeymooners can’t fail to sink blissfully into married life engulfed in the romantic ambiance of St. Lucia. The extraordinary twin Pitons, the bubbling Sulphur Springs, dramatic scenery and miles upon miles of lush tropical rainforest, set the perfect scene for couples in love.

If the “trend” predictors are right then 2009 might not have any destination honeymoons, rather everyone will just drive or stay nearby for their honeymoon …

However, I’m going to predict Hawaii will come through as the winner in 2009.

  2. Mike,
The nice thing is that since everything with the economy is that hotels and flights are being slashed like crazy. Right now is a great time to travel.

  3. This doesn’t surprise me about St. Lucia. I was sold on St. Lucia for years and my wife absolutely loved our honeymoon there last November.

Its majestic views, breathtaking sunsets, picturesque landscape serene beaches, creole culture and cuisine, affordable vacation rentals, beautiful people, and island hospitality all combine to make it a top Caribbean vacation destination.
