Check out the latest developments below, all perfect for a thrill-seeking family: Fantasyland, Walt Disney World Nothing gets children more excited than the prospect of visiting Walt Disney World, and you’ll now be able to make the trip of a lifetime even better by taking the kids to the recently re-opened Fantasyland, which has all new features and attractions. The Enchanted Forest is perfect for the little ones who’ll fall in love with the musical undersea world of The Little Mermaid, and believe they’re really in the land of The Beauty and The Beast by hearing Enchanting Tales with Belle. SeaWorld, Orlando Wildlife and nature always fascinate both adults and children, so if you’ve got a mini David Attenborough in your family then there are few better places to go than SeaWorld. SeaWorld, Orlando Rays, penguins, sharks and dolphins will be on show, plus the new Turtle Trek experience is a must-see. Furthermore, you will be able to enjoy the biggest expansion to SeaWorld for several years: the Antarctica zone. The centrepiece of the whole experience is the Empire of the Penguin, which takes you through all the penguin exhibits and provides a unique look at what life is like as a penguin chick. Universal Studios, Orlando If you’ve got a brood of young thrill seekers then Universal Studios is the place to be. Fun is to be had for kids of all ages, but the larger rollercoasters are only suitable for older children. The Incredible Hulk launches you from 0-40mph in two seconds, and the Dragon Challenge will really get the wind in your hair. Incredible Hulk roller coaster Transformers: The Ride-3D opens on June 20, and is billed as an “ultra-immersive, next generation thrill ride that blurs the line between fiction and reality!” Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World The Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World has been undergoing renovations for several years and the hard work is now starting to pay off. Nothing can get the mind of a child racing like seeing some of the most exciting and dangerous animals on the planet up close and personal. You can also take the Expedition Everest ride and experience what it’s like on top of the world, you might even see a yeti. 1. A great spot in Florida for a family vacation is South Seas Island Resort on Captiva. Everything you could want or need are right on location. A variety of accommodations are available either bay or beachside, with restaurants, beaches, shops, kids activities, golf, fishing, boating, and an amazing pool complex. We absolutely loved staying there and can’t wait to go back again!

  2. @Laura Just as an update, a few delays have pushed back the arrival of the Avatar area in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
It is looking like early 2017 before we can take a trip over Pandora on a Banshee.
At the moment, Disney have revealed a new family boat ride and what looks to be a hybrid kind of flight based simulator as the two main attractions for the new area.

Although the delay is a bit disappointing, like many things, the wait will definitely be worth it.
Thankfully, Universal’s Diagon Alley will probably debut in the summer of 2015, bringing a second new Harry Potter area to Orlando.
