5 luxury city breaks to enjoy this Autumn

Summer sunshine and beaches may be a distant memory but with Autumn comes plenty of adventure!  The milder temperatures make for an ideal city break where you can discover culture, cuisine, history and architecture.  Luxury travellers should always ask their personal travel agent about the tips and secret tricks to ensure you can discover the VIP luxury break at its finest. Our top five VIP city break destinations include: New York The Big Apple has always been a top destination for international visitors with its iconic skyline, fabulous shopping and excellent food scene.  However VIP travellers can also enjoy the sights at their leisure and should ask their agent to organise private museum tours, VIP bar and club access and sought after reservations at the most popular restaurants in the city. Brooklyn Bridge NY Top tip: whilst there is a range of luxury hotels available, your private travel consultant will have access to some of best realtors in the city who offer some of the best residential properties not available on the standard market. Florence Although it’s a year round destination, autumn is less crowded than the summer months and is the perfect time to discover Florence which excellently showcases this best of Italian culture, cuisine, landscape and how can we exclude… the wine! Florence sunset Top tip: the harvest period provides extra excitement and ask your agent to organise some of the  top seasonal activities including participation in truffle hunting, wine harvests and even wild boar hunting. Palma Palma is certainly a popular destination for city break lovers as Mallorca’s capital was ranked the best place to live.  At just the right size, it’s big enough to successfully create that city thrill yet small enough to provide a relaxed and laid back vibe. Palma Cathedral dusk Top tip: don’t miss its 16th century palaces, cutting edge art, brilliant shopping and its gastronomical delights and the autumn is perfect to enjoy more active activities such as hiking, cycling and golf. Cape Town There is so much to see and do in this amazing city so be sure to leave enough time to fit in all the must see/do activities this urban jungle has to offer, from private vineyard tours on world-class estates, sightseeing, playing a round of golf or venturing into the wild with a safari tour. Camps Bay, Cape Town Top tip: definitely plan your journey in advance and work with your travel agent to book in activities and required timeslots before you leave – don’t leave it to chance or you will be disappointed! Paris Oh la la – is at the height of its game, boasting the world’s best cuisine, museum, architecture wine and fashion! Take in the best loved sights, enjoy people watching from the bustling and animated street cafes  – there is something for everyone here, young and old. Notre Dame at Dusk Top tip: for a truly VIP experience, ask your personal travel agent to create a personalised itinerary, granting you unique access to Paris’ most exclusive places and experts across fashion, history, the arts, gastronomy and wine.  A one to one experience with these experts will be an experience to remember. 1. Those are amazing cities, great choice.
For a luxury but cozy and friendly city break this Autumn I would also suggest Porto. Its downtown is World Heritage Site, with trendy restaurants, world-renowned Port wine cellars and with a lively nightlife.

    Cheers!

  2. Great suggestions! My choice would be Turin…I consider it a forgotten city of Italy with so many others grabbing the tourist attention. A beautiful city full of shopping, museums and great eating but my reason for picking it for autumn is for the Piedmont truffles and porcini mushrooms available at the enormous food market, as well as the view from the Duomo once the first snow has fallen on the alps, stunning!

  3. Wonderful suggestions – and I’ll be in Florence for most of autumn so I’m looking forward to the slightly cooler, emptier streets that everyone keeps promising!

One suggestion from me is London as I can never help but wonder why more people don’t suggest it for autumn. A walk around St. James’s Park or even just through the back streets of the Docklands in the evening kicking through the thick layers of fallen leaves is always wonderful.

  4. Excellent suggestions – I shall be in Vienna and Ho Chi Minh this Autumn … admittedly worlds apart. Been told to expect nothing but rain in Vienna and quite the opposite in Ho Chi Minh.
