Photograph of the week: Tower Bridge, London
By Paul Johnson on Jun 08, 2016 in Attractions, Europe, Going Out, Regions, United Kingdom, Western Europe
London’s Tower Bridge was built in the late nineteenth century and spans the River Thames, connecting Tower Hamlets to the north and Southwark to the south. Designed by Sir Horace Jones, the central span of the bridge can be raised and lowered to allow ships through. Today, you can visit the Tower Bridge Exhibition which allows you to step inside the bridge, explore the Victorian Engine Rooms and marvel at spectacular views and even a glass floor.
