  1. Sri Lanka has been on my travel list for decades. I’ve got to admit that it even goes back to Duran Duran filming a video there in the 1980s.

I’ve always been put off by trying to work out the monsoon seasons and as I was a teacher I only had limited holidays.

Now that I’m retired and am free to travel whenever I like, Sri Lanka’s very near the top of my wish list. I finally hope to get there.

  2. I had a chat with a “travel professional” last night. He said he’s never been so busy. After 2 years of restrictions people are desperate to get away. At the top end of the market his customers have saved a lot. For 2 years people have gone without meals out, weekends away and no dream holidays. Places like these dream Sri Lankan beaches are going to be busy, busy, busy.

  3. What’s got me about Sri Lanka is that there’s always gonna be a monsoon somewhere. Maybe you need 2 trips to do the island? Right ?

  4. we first visited Sri Lanka in 1998 and fell in love with the people, the culture, the country and the food. we’ve returned many time since including most recently during August 2022. Negombo, Tangalle and Hikkaduwa all have their unique charm for sure, but it’s the deserted and secluded East coast beaches that we truly love. we can’t wait for our next Sri Lankan adventure…
