  1. Marrakech is atmospheric and magical. In my humble opinion, Fez is even better. I would say that it’s much more off-grid.

    1. You might need an Air Doctor in Marrakech, the kamikaze mopeds going through the narrow lanes are very dangerous. When I visited a moped ran over a shopper’s foot and all hell let loose.

  2. As somebody who has travelled a lot it’s inevitable that I’ve picked up a few injuries and illnesses a long the way.

I can certainly see the value of the Air Doctor app. There are times when it could have got me out of some painful scrapes.

Once I even cut short the holiday and flew home which was probably an over reaction. On reflection I should probably have searched more intently for some local
    medical
    help.

  3. You’re right, Oman is like a dream.

If Muscat is great then Nizwa the former capital is even better.

If you’re staying in Muscat it is worth taking a trip through the mountains and deserts to get to Nizwa. It’s a fortress of a city that takes you back to a different age.

  4. Kimberly’s an interesting shout for Australia. Luxury in the outback’s very appealing. That’s an option that I knew nothing about it.

  5. Interesting that you’ve put Bhutan first. Two of my friends who’ve been there rate it as their best holiday ever.

  6. Easter Island has always drawn me perhaps because it’s so far away from anywhere else.

If I ever get there it’ll probably have to be as part of a round the world trip.

  7. I’ve seen pictures of the Namib Desert and the Skeleton Coast.

I’d love to go. The thing that worries me is how remote is it?

  8. It seems to me that since Covid and lockdowns we’ve been wanting to get away from other people and even go off-grid. Or it maybe that during the lockdowns it made us think about where we wanted to travel to. Not sure what it is but I think it is a trend.
