  1. There really is way more than winter sports on offer, plenty for a great winter break even if you don’t ski.

  2. Don’t these lists usually begin with 10? Surely Innsbruck has one more activity up its sleeve to make it a round number? What about a cookery lesson or a yodelling session?

  3. Innsbruck is having something of a moment. For the first episode of the new series of The Apprentice, Sir Alan Sugar sent his wannabe entrepreneurs to Innsbruck.

The city looked stunning even if the budding entrepreneurs were less sparkly.

  4. Plenty here for the active family, though younger members may have to miss out on the wine-tasting. Good to see that the Innsbruck folk take their food so seriously.

  5. The tragedy of travelling for work is that you never get to see a place. Everyone thinks that travelling for work is glamorous, but it isn’t.

I go to Innsbruck once or twice a year on business and have done none of this stuff. Next time, I’m going to try to tag on a weekend so that I see a little more.

  6. To start with I thought the bob experience was what I’ve seen on the Olympics and Cool Runnings and was the full bobsleigh works. After re-reading the post more carefully I’ve come to understand that bob rafting should be much safer and far less likely to cause injuries.

  7. If you followed this advice you’d have a great time and get a real sense of what the city is about, though you might be absolutely knackered every night!

  8. You’re getting a whole lot more if you’re using Innsbruck as your base for skiing than if you opt for a resort that’s mainly devoted to winter sport.
