Dubai just doesn’t stop

Just when you thought that the Dubai hotel market might be totally saturated, along comes another big name. St. Regis has announced that it will be joining the fray, with a hotel and residences to open in 2012. The St. Regis Dubai and The Residences will feature 220 guest rooms, including 44 Junior Suites, 80 branded residences, three restaurants, two bars, fitness centre, swimming pool, shops and more than 4,500 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting and banquet space.   Hotels in Dubai recorded 1.89 million guests in the first quarter of 2008, which represented a growth of 7% (and apparently  a 22% increase on revenue)  on the same period last year, so maybe there is still scope for another.
