Northern Hospitality Awards 2006 winners

Northern Hospitality AwardsThe winners of the first ever Northern Hospitality Awards were revealed last month.   These awards celebrate the successful hospitality businesses and people in the North of England.   The winners are Anthony’s in Leeds (Best Restaurant), Andrew Pern of The Star at Harome (Best Chef), Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel & Restaurant in Windermere (Best Hotel – and regular client of mine!), Socio Rehab in Manchester (Best Bar), The Packhorse at Hayfield, Derbyshire (Best Pub), the Soup Kitchen in Manchester (Best Newcomer) and Simon Rhatigan of the Feversham Arms in Helmsley, North Yorkshire (Best Manager). A lifetime achievement award went to Nigel Haworth of Northcote Manor near Blackburn.

He is Winner of the Innovations in Travel ‘Best Travel Influencer’ Award from WIRED magazine. In addition to other awards, the blog has also been voted “one of the world’s best travel blogs” and “best for luxury” by The Telegraph.
