Forbes is running a feature called ‘Moneymoons‘ which I assume are just honeymoons that cost a lot of money. Anyway, as usual they’re running ‘top ten’ slideshow, and this time is no exception. The “ten luxury honeymoon destinations” featured are:
- Anse Chastanet, St. Lucia
- Canoe Bay, Chetek, Wisconsin
- Château de la Chèvre d’Or, Eze, France
- Eichardt’s Private Hotel, Queenstown, New Zealand
- Four Seasons Resort Lana’i at Manele Bay, Lana’i, Hawaii
- One & Only Palmilla, Los Cabos, Mexico
- Perivolas, Santorini, Greece
- The Oberoi, Denpasar, Bali
- Sivory Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
- Villa Le Barone, Chianti, Italy
The Forbes list has some overlap with the Five Star Alliance “Best of Honeymoons” list …
I could find only one place common to the two lists: the One & Only Palmilla at Los Cabos.
Hmmm, your right. I think we must have updated it recently, since I thought there was also more overlap with our “world’s most romantic hotels” list, but there isn’t.
I wonder which one is more ‘accurate’.
I personally don’t think one is any more accurate than the other. These kinds of lists are very subjective usually, and what might be a great honeymoon for one couple won’t necessarily suit another (although I’d expect it’d be hard not to enjoy a honeymoon at any of the locations in both lists!).
