The world’s 2nd 7-star hotel?

From eviewweek.com:
World’s 2nd 7-star hotel will be in China A management agreement to build China’s first seven-star hotel was signed over the weekend, Beijing Times reports. China’s real-estate company Antaeus Group and the Canadian company Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, signed the agreement to build the hotel in Sanya, a tourism hotspot in southern China’s Hainan Province. The hotel will equal the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, the world’s only seven-star hotel so far, the report says. Construction is expected to start this year and the hotel plans to open in 2011.
Quick… someone tell them that there are already two 7-star hotels (if indeed you believe in the self-accredited classification)!   Not only the Burj in Dubai, but also the Town House Galleria in Milan.

  1. Seems to be a fair amount of competition amongst various places as to who can have the most luxurious features. Read not long ago that some of the extravagent facilities in the UAE are struggling to be completed due to the credit crunch.

  2. I need spaciousness and no porcelain objets that can be broken when rammed into by a rambunctious toddler.
