Hot air ballooning over South Africa

Johannesburg city slickers escape on the weekends to the Magaliesberg mountains, and justifiably so – its natural beauty provides a relaxing refuge from the grind of urban existence. A wonderful way to appreciate the area’s grassy slopes, waterfalls and dramatic rock formations is by going on a hot air balloon trip. Watch the sunrise and the patchwork land change colour as you gently drift over the veld, listening to the otherworldly silence. Most trips include a Champagne breakfast once you reach terra firma. See Bill Harrop’s ‘Original’ Balloon Safaris for more information.
