$1,000 for an omelette

Welcome to the world’s most expensive omelette as recognised by Guinness World Records.  Well, actually… it’s a frittata – the Italians’ take on omelettes. You’ll find this one on the breakfast menu at NormaÂ’s restaurant at the Parker Meridien Hotel, New York. It’s called the ‘Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata’ and consists mostly of sevruga caviar and lobster tail. And don’t worry… if $1,000 is out of your budget, there is a $100 version. This isn’t just a gimmick at the hotel – they’ve actually been serving this dish for years.  And they’re not alone in the sale of expensive omelettes – Bosidale, a restaurant in London, has a £90 omelette that also includes lobster, as well as being made with gullsÂ’ eggs, crab and truffles.
