Empressa eau de parfrum from Penhaligons
As one would expect of an Empressa, she travels in style: with her abundant pearls, mirrors and fine silks. She is the jewel in the crown. The rose in the desert. She rises above all others in stature, in refinement, in grace and in beauty. Her queenly airs are clothed in splendour. Like her scent, she leaves a seductive and lasting impression., Florals and fruits are exquisitely combined, tamed, because whilst she is certainly sweet she is anything but cloying. A rare find indeed.

Take it from me gentlemen you can’t go wrong with something like the travelwrap. My wife has got half a wardrobe of these kinds of wraps and pashminas etc. If I’m away on business a wrap is often my default option for a present. She says that I don’t understand the need for different shades to give her options with her wardrobe – which makes it easy for me.
Fortunately my partner likes to travel light which does make things easier. She is always very organised but I think the Travel Folio from Bellroy is very cleverly designed. Do they do one that is a little more macho looking for us men?
Hi Geoff… they have another one called the ‘travel wallet’ (as opposed to the ‘travel folio’) which might be more what you’re looking for…? Regards, Paul
Thanks – it sounds as if it might be just the job.
Women and hair is one of the great unexplored territories. I don’t know what’s going on. What I do know is that my wife is moaning a lot about her hair dryer and her hair. So if I buy her this Featherweight Luxe 2i thingy it might solve a lot of problems. Christmas present problem sorted. Thanks.
Is there any feedback with the online photography course? Although my partner isn’t the most patient of listeners – it’s OK she doesn’t read ALTB – I still think the best way to learn is with some feedback. Otherwise you can keep on making the same mistakes over and over again. It must be easy to upload your images and get an experienced pro to respond with some pointers.
I’ve heard Penhaligon’s custom makes a scent for you in their store. Would you know how much that would put me back? Or is it just better to buy their pre-made scents?
I’m sorely tempted by the hairdryer. It looks to be both effective and lightweight – you don’t normally get both! I wonder how compact it is… time for a little more research, I think, but so far so good!
My partner struggles with skin problems particularly at this time of year when there are biting chill winds.
She’s a big fan of the Miracle Broth as it helps to keep her skin moisturised. She thinks it is a good investment so I’ll get her some as a Christmas present.
I love the travel folio. I am travelling quite a lot this year so will probably look into this.
Paula
Christmas and my Birthday are always difficult for my girlfriend. My Birthday’s on 30th December. Too late to roll everything up into a combined Xmas / Birthday present. So there’s always a little gesture present on 25th and something bigger on the 30th.
Well this year I got something small later,
the Osmo Pocket Camera, so I ain’t complaining.
I can’t believe Christmas is rapidly rolling around again, I’m not impressed! Can’t say I’m a fan of the C word but I do like checking out gifting ideas. The Osmo Pocket thing is a new one to me as I didn’t know anything like that existed. It’s such a brilliant idea because even with a decent but older model iPhone stabilisation can be a problem. I checked out the website and they do a lot of funky photo related things like the god awful selfie sticks but also tripods, which I’ve been thinking of buying for a little while now. I’ve also been looking for a new waterproof padded coat to replace my old Karrimor one so I’ll have to check out the Helly Hanson one, thanks for the tip! As usual I seem to end up using Christmas gift idea posts to buy myself things!
