  1. I can just see my husband in that crew neck from Patagonia. It’s the sort of jumper that he would buy for himself so it makes for a guaranteed success present choice.

  2. I’m not quite sure if my husband is still slim- fit but he’s definitely in need of the travel suit from Montezemolo that doesn’t crease. He had some long days of cars and planes and can look very wrinkled. It’s time I helped him to take action and get his sartorial elegance back.

    1. I travel on business a fair bit and find it makes a big difference if I use jackets that are wrinkle resistant. It’s not a great first impression if you turn up for a meeting as though you’ve just got up (even if you have!) :-)

  3. It gets tougher and tougher out on the roads. Any dash cam that provides you with more evidence and assistance has got to be a good thing. Also my son is an actuary, that means he calculates risk and insurance costs. Already a number of insurers are calculating the value of any in-car technology that is likely to reduce claims. Having the very latest high-end dash cam could save you a lot of money.

    1. Yes, most definitely. It can not only reduce your policy costs (and I’m sure it wouldn’t be long before that saving alone outweighs the cost of a dashcam), but also help you in the event of a claim ever having to be made. Plus it’s quite fun for capturing unexpected events. There’s a place where I drive – a short track so nothing high speed – where I regularly encounter deer on the road so that is always interesting to capture.

  4. We live over on the West Coast and I ain’t gonna apologise for living in beautiful California but I do have to admit that New York’s got the best skyline in the whole of the USA, especially from the water. We won’t be heading East for a few months but I would have thought that you could give a voucher for one of these jazz and dinner cruises?

  5. For some time now my husband has been saying that we ought to have some drone footage on our website. Between us we run a landscaping company. He’s always had a Spielberg streak to him and I think he sees himself as a film maker.

I’m not sure that buying an Inspire 2 drone for the company, using company funds, really counts as a Christmas present but I think my husband would have great fun with it. Who knows it may even increase our sales?

    1. The Inspire 2 is a pretty advanced drone for experienced drone users. If you are just making a video for the purpose you describe, I suspect the Mavic Pro would more than fulfil your needs. If you’re really going for high quality, though, have the budget and think you would get a lot of use out of it, then by all means look at the Inspire range.

  6. Almost every week my husband has to do a business trip and there’s nothing worse for your luggage than being battered by airport luggage handling. He’s really in need of something tough and stylish like the Lexicon Hardside Case. Though most of us never think of buying new luggage until we get promoted by a piece like this.

    1. I must admit, I have a preference for the hardside cases. I think they offer a little bit more protection. I’ve seen a number of torn fabric cases emerge on the luggage carousel over the years, but rarely have I noticed any problems with hardside cases.

  7. These drones are really getting impressively advanced lately. When they first came about I thought they would just be a fad but they’re surprisingly agile and sophisticated now so it’ll be interesting to see how they’ll be used in the future beyond just for fun. Using them for images and video capture is the part that I’m most interested in rather than their use delivering shopping orders, but they definitely have considerably versatile potential.

Haven’t heard of Great American Days before but having been to NY I would definitely recommend it. Didn’t get a dinner cruise though. Maybe I can add that to my holiday list because I’d love to go back one day.

    1. Yes, I think drones are here to stay, and no doubt get more and more sophisticated, but with that I think they’ll fall under tighter and tighter regulation. From a photography and video imagery perspective, they are great tools and, so long as you’ve got a good camera on board, can produce some stunning footage.

  8. I travel with work quite a lot but my suits always get creased. I like the look of this one but am not familiar with the name Montezemolo which makes me a little nervous to buy.

  9. I can highly recommend the Nextbase dash cams. I’ve had one for a couple of years now and have been very satisfied with the quality of it.
