  1. Once upon a time when my wife asked, “Has it got a pool?” She was asking about the hotel.

Now when she asks that question she is referring to the room. How times have changed.

    1. Haha – yes Steve, times have certainy changed. Personally I prefer to see what’s going on away from my room. I guess a swim-up rooms gives you the best of both worlds.

  2. You can’t beat a swim up bar. I remember the first time I went to one and it felt like I’d finally made it in life! I know, sounds pretty sad but it felt like such luxury to be paddling around and just get a cocktail, lying back in a float. So, so nice. But a swim up room? Never stayed in one of those before. I’m not sure I even knew they were a ‘thing’. Like the The Zafiro Palace Alcudia which sounds pretty nice with your own private part of the outdoor area. I’ll make a note of the Iberostar Jardin del Sol, partly because it just looks amaaaaazing and partly because I keep hearing about Mallorca from friends but I’ve never been so I’d like to see what all the fuss is about. Bring on summer, can’t wait!

    1. Thanks Emma. Yes, I know what you mean about the swim-up bar – not sad at all! I’ll be putting together a blog about these next month. Sometimes you can have the best of both worlds such as the Zafiro Palace Palmanova which has swim-up rooms and a swim-up bar in the main pool …. perfect!

  3. If you’ve been out sightseeing for the day it’s a real luxury to have a dip in the pool literally on your doorstep. You don’t have to bother with keys, flip-flops, cover-up etc and walking to the main pool.

    1. Good point Alison. Sometimes it can be a nuisance having to come back to your room if (like me) you forget something once your settled at the main pool.

  4. Part of the attraction is that water has such a calming effect. Exactly the view you want on a relaxing holiday.

    1. I never thought of it that way Caroline. Must be nice in the evenings as well to sit out on the terrace while the pool is illuminated.
