New airline routes: June 2023

We thought we’d start a new monthly series on the site, detailing some new airline routes for the month ahead. Let us know whether you think this is a useful feature. It doesn’t intend to be a comprehensive listing of all new routes, just a taster to share some of the new travel opportunities that are out there. The routes we mention will be primarily out of the US and UK (to align with A Luxury Travel Blog‘s primary readership) but we will list some others, too. We’d love to hear your comments as to wether this is something you’d like to see more regularly or whether you feel the format needs to be adapted in any way. Thank you!

  1. Yes, no doubt that it will be good for keeping us in touch with new flying opportunities. Keep on posting.

  2. And to quote the immortal words of Simon Cowell, “And it’s a yes from me too.”

Things change so fast in the airline industry that it’s always good to have up to date info.

    1. Thanks, Lorna… glad to hear it has your approval! We’ve already started doing some of the compiling of similar articles for subsequent months.

  3. Depending on the price, direct from JFK to Rome could be very good news for us. Once you start relying on connecting flights our stress levels soar. It might make our summer holiday a little more relaxing.

    1. Hi Rob – you can already fly JFK-FCO direct with British Airways, KLM, Delta and ITA Airways. But it’s a new route for Norse Atlantic Airways which began operations less than a year ago.

  4. I’m a real magpie when it comes to travel info. You never know what little nugget of travel info might trigger a travel plan or be a piece in a jigsaw to complete a half-formed plan. Keep on posting these please – they could be useful.

  5. It’s good to see airlines flying new routes after so many were cut after the pandemic. Hopefully it’s a sign that the travel market is growing and creating new jobs again.

    1. Yes, Caroline… hopefully! It would be interesting to see the figures but I definitely get a sense that normality is slowly returning…

  6. new routes and new flights added to existing schedules are exciting as it means we are slowly returning to pre covid levels, let’s hope the prices also move in the right direction! here in Siem Reap, Cambodia we still have very limited flights and those that are available have a hefty price tag. this needs to change before we can all recover fully but hopefully we don’t have to wait too long for that!

  7. Another to mention… Air India is launching non-stop flights from Amsterdam to Delhi. The flight will operate with a two-class Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday) starting 11th June 2023. Amsterdam will be the 8th continental European city served by Air India, and the fourth European destination that the airline has connected from Delhi in the last four months.
